sdmags2_30thYes, dear readers! Student’s Digest, your favorite Social Studies news magazine, will turn 30 in school year 2010-2011. And we want you to join us in this celebration!

Almost 30 years ago, on July 7, 1980, the first issue of the weekly Social Studies magazine, Sulong Dunong (the original name of Student’s Digest) came off the press, with Gaspar A. Vibal as publisher. The main focus of Sulong Dunong was to impart up-to-date knowledge and information on Social Studies through affordable grade school and high school supplementary reading materials. In 1991, Sulong Dunong was renamed Student’s Digest.

The editors and staff writers of Student’s Digest are preparing several activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the magazine in school year 2010-2011. This includes an anniversary issue where you can read about the history of Student’s Digest, interesting trivia, and other special features and information about the magazine and SD Publications, Inc. in general. The details and other information about this anniversary celebration will also be posted here on SDmags.net (www.sdmags.net), the official Web site of SD Publications, Inc.

Again, join us in celebrating 30 years of imparting knowledge and information. Join us in celebrating 30 years of Student’s Digest!
